Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Cleric Spell Deck Review
/ Sean B
Sometimes players need ease of access to their spells, fortunately, D&D has spell decks for each of the classes that gives the player just that so they can have their own spells for their character on hand. The Cleric deck for Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition is another of the moderate sized deck types that are available. Let’s take a quick look at everything inside this deck and let you know if this is worth buying your gamer friend or yourself.
I personally have yet to play a cleric in the game so it took a long time for me to pick this deck up. There are reviews of the Ranger, Arcane, and Druid decks here on this website that I will link on their mentions right here.
The Cleric deck contains 153 cards inside with a white yellow finish. The spells range from level 1 -9. It’s worth noting that reviews in the past had this deck at a lower amount of cards. That is because this is the version 3 release of the deck that is being reviewed today.
like before, when opening the deck I was met with the cards sticking together and had to apply pressure to both sides in order to separate the cards. This is because the material used on them is able to support dry erase or wet erase markers on them which is one of my favorite features. Having opened plenty of these at this point I would not worry about this but it’s something to keep in mind when first getting to these cards.
On the cards you will see casting time, the range, duration, and any components that are needed to cast the spell suck as visual speech an so on. Underneath that you will see that the cards have descriptions of what the spells will do along with dice rolls and spell effects along with the cost of any items to cast the spell.
The thing that makes these cards really amazing to work with is that the players have them out in front of them and know what they want to use and can put that card forward before their turn begins so it moves the combat forward significantly faster then the one player that has to look through the book for their ability.
So if you have a cleric out there in your own D&D group I could not recommend these decks and this deck for the Cleric enough. They speed up the game. The quality is solid, and you only need to get the one that fits the class that is being played. There are many other deck types out there, it would feel wrong to not cover the rest of the classes at this point, but we will also get into some of the item decks as well that were released. So stay tuned for more Dungeons & Dragons content at dickwizardry.com
