Talenticity - The Steampunk Art-Battle board game with Visual Magic!

Who’s the most talented?

Talenticity is a new steampunk board game with optical magic was created by Talented Games - a Ukrainian team of gamers, technicians, and artists.

Talenticity merges classic board game mechanics with technical solutions. The players experience a completely new dimension of game play and a real touch of optical magic with unique steampunk-style know-hows: Perforated cards that can be combined to read hidden codes and optically hidden images that can be viewed with a special optical decoder called the “God’s eye”.

Who Created Talenticity

The game was designed by Gleb Alyokhin, a dedicated gamer for 30+ years. He started developing board games for his son in 2013 and today this hobby emerged into a full-scale project. Talenticity was illustrated by Mikhail Lapshin, a unique self-taught illustrator from Kyiv, Ukraine, whose bright imagination and great skills became a perfect match for the art-battle board game.

Talenticity starts a 21-days crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter on October 29th.

About Talenticity

Beloved by Gods and all the inventors, Talenticity is the world’s brightest city of art, technology, and visual magic. Every evening, when the sun gilds the tree-tops of Talent-Park, the Gods wake up in the sky and talenti-citizens rush to the streets hungry for new emotions! And this is the moment of truth for the hero artists – the four most talented artists in the city: Earl Grey, Jolly Lady, Rocka Rolla and Disco Chimney.

The players play as one of the artists and compete to become the Super Star: search for the Gods’ hidden blessings in the skies, run shows to earn Moneye (the official currency of Talenticity) and conquer the city locations, find mighty encoded artifacts and become the richest All-time star of Talenticity!

Number of players: 2-4

Time required: 40-120 min

Languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German

Recommended ages: 12+

How Talenticity is Played

The game comes with a main board and a series of tiles called the skies field. To start the game 2 to 4 players randomly place the tiles of the skies field face down until the shape of the field matches the board. Each player then randomly receives a hero and god cards.

Once you receive know your character and god, you can take the correct miniatures and miniature god’s eye.

Rounds are played in form of days. At the beginning of each day each of the players will take a piece of the sky field sitting next to the board that was previously set up and use the god’s eye in their possession to see the hidden image on the tile. This is a really cool effect that also allows the player to keep the image secret from the other players around the table. The tiles are then placed back in the field anywhere that is desired. Perhaps so as to know what not to grab the next time.

Turn structure starts with the drawing from the show card deck. The player will then roll two 4 sided dice, this will determine action points that can be used for movement across the board. Moving across the board goes space by space. But that is not all that you are able to do with these action points.

You can also use 2 action points to place a performance in the circles around the board. You can knock out an opponents performance token for 4 action points. The goal is to do performances, receive location cards and earn moneye. You can combine shows with gods and matching locations to earn more moneye. With the moneye you can hunt for artifacts.

The game ends when players perform 6 shows. (5 for 2 or 3 players). The richest player is the winner of the game.
